A Day In the Life

I don’t think I’m going to have much to write about today. Yesterday was a pretty average day. I had a good day at work, with no issues to speak of. That’s always nice. Steph had a great day at Champ Camp. She has only two more sessions left (it’s once a week), and she will be done with it. She’s really going to miss it. We are hoping that they will let her help out next summer, after her senior year. Christi’s day was typical, which isn’t great. They are in the middle of a huge roll-out now, which goes on all weekend. She doesn’t have to work the whole time, but will be frequently checking in on conference calls.

The Red Sox were off yesterday, but are back home to face the Mariners at Fenway Park tonight. (I don’t have a nickname for them yet.) The Rangers lost another game to the Halos yesterday afternoon. It was a 1-0 game, and, apparently, the only run was scored because of an Endy Chavez error. What a shame. Since they didn’t score, it’s obvious that Nelson Cruz did not hit a home run. Shucks. The great news is that the Grumpy Old Men lost to the Desperate Housewives yesterday, which puts the Sox 2 games up on them. The Rangers are still 3 games up on the Halos. They play the Bluebirds tonight in Arlington. I’m going back to Papi for the Home run today. Adrian Beltre got a hit yesterday, so my Beat the Streak is now four. I think I’ll pick Josh Hamilton today.

Today’s vinyl record being ripped to vinyl is certainly a classic. That’s right. “Surfin’ USA,” by The Beach Boys. Capitol Records SM-1890. It appears to be an original, too. Oh, wait. I just did a little research, and the SM-1890 version is a re-release from 1976. The original 1963 release is numbered ST-1890. It’s still a Capitol release, though, so not a bootleg. What should have tipped me off is the “Gold Record Award” stamp on the album cover. There is some actual true surfing music on this album, too. For those who don’t know, true surfing music has no lyrics, but is purely instrumental. At least that’s what I heard somewhere. Heheheh…

Well, I guess that’s about it for today. It’s Friday, which is great, but there won’t be much going on this weekend, since Christi has that roll-out. Oh…Stephanie has a followup doctor’s appt today, just a visit to discuss the lab results and medications. And we got a note yesterday that her pictures are in, so we might go over to look at them tomorrow.

TTFN, y’all!
